Hi Amazing Convention Planners! Thank you so much for your incredibly hard and beautiful work. We had a wonderful time and learned so much. Things we loved: The business meeting was run really well. We appreciated the way you engendered peaceful and respectful debate about the issues. The food at the hotel was delicious, especially the taco meal. The centerpieces were gorgeous. The workshops were very useful. Leadership and volunteers were very friendly, kind, and helpful. Things that could have been different: Having the convention at an evangelical resort was very off-putting to both of us. We never felt comfortable and I can imagine we weren't the only couple who felt this way. In my experience, evangelical churches are highly political and it felt like "outside issues" being in their space (for example, the prayer for Israel happening the first night - don't get me wrong - I'm all for prayer for Israel and Palestine, however, I have feelings about how evangelicals use Israel for their own political ends). Now on to the petty: I only drink herbal tea (this is my recovery issue) and I was so frustrated at not having access to hot water all weekend. I brought my own tea bags, but it was next to impossible to get hot water. I talked to several other people who also prefer tea. Also, the hotel cleaning products were very strongly scented and made it unpleasant to walk in the hallways. It would have been helpful to know in advance when meals were going to be offered and when we were on our own. I think it should be in the daily agenda so that we can plan accordingly. Also, I personally would prefer not to have money go toward a swag bag/souvenirs. I don't think it makes sense environmentally and I'd rather have all that money go toward snacks or meals. The weekend felt really packed and I'm wondering if there could be more down time. By the time the Saturday night couples spoke and there were so many announcements at the dinner, we were exhausted. Lastly, it would have been great to have a professional audio engineer to deal with the Zoom and mic issues. The couple loss workshop was basically ruined by bad sound and tech issues. Sorry for all the critiques! It really was a wonderful convention and we are very grateful! Thank you!

Happy Monday !!! We thoroughly enjoyed the convention and appreciate all your efforts to make it the success it was !!
However, as our group's delegate couple (Saturday Night Couples Meeting of Recovering Couples Anon) it was our understanding that after the convention, we would be sent an email with instructions as to how we could place our group's votes on the 8 proposals presented at the convention. But we have not received any such email or instructions and we're very concerned that our group's wishes will not be heard. Would you thus re-end that email and instructions so we can place our group's vote?
Thank you, Melinda S. irw Don S. 281-989-5440
